LOCATION OF POSITION: This position reports to the Custodial Supervisor located at: Monroe One BOCES, Foreman Center, 41 O’Connor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450; May be assigned to other locations in the nearby area.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: As needed, substitute positions for the 2019-2020 school year.

START DATE:  As Need Presents

Responsible for all aspects of general cleaning offices, classrooms and bathrooms, including but not limited to:

  • Adherence to work practices, procedures and safety precautions
  • Window cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Trash removal and recycling
  • Floor stripping and re-finishing
  • Operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet extractors
  • Moving furniture
  • Other related duties as assigned

1.  Knowledge of building cleaning procedures, materials and equipment.
2.  Knowledge of cleaning agents and proper applications.
3.  Able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
4.  Good attention to detail.
5.  Able to work independently and as a team member.
6.  Physically able to perform essential functions of position (with or without reasonable accommodation), including but not limited to: 

  • Able to perform repetitive cleaning tasks
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform light, medium, and heavy physical effort to clean and care for an assigned area including walking; bending; stooping; twisting; reaching; pulling; pushing; kneeling; and crouching
