LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES; Various Locations
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month, Full Time Probationary; Anticipated Openings for the 2019-2020 School Year
STARTING DATE: September 3, 2019
DUTIES: 1. Plan and provide specialized reading instruction using a variety of research based reading interventions. 2. Support the development, implementation and evaluation of behavior and academic intervention plans. 3. Administering benchmark and ongoing system of assessment to monitor students reading progress. 4. Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning. 5. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, districts and community agencies. 6. Support students as needed in the classroom setting with instructional needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. NYS Certification in Literacy-Reading K-6 or 7-12 required. 2. Valid NYS Initial/Professional Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist or Permanent Special Education K-12 strongly preferred. 3. Experience with meeting needs of adverse student population. 4. Experience working with students with behavioral/emotional and developmental disabilities preferred. 5. Demonstrate knowledge and experience with therapeutic and restorative approaches to behavior management and problem solving. 6. Physically able to perform essential functions of position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
