Tutor - for Summer Work ProgramSW/TUTOR 022819

LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES; Various Locations

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Various dates available June through August 2019  

DUTIES:
1.  Provide direct instructional support to students. Primary needs are in areas of reading, special education, foreign language, math and science.
​2.  Travel to school district buildings, student’s homes, hospitals or other community locations for direct instruction and to coordinate curriculum and schedules with school counselors, teachers, and school/program/hospital personnel.
​3.  Provide written assessment/progress reports to the school districts and the BOCES Consultant Teacher and Tutoring office.
​4.  Special education tutors are involved in the IEP process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  Appropriate NYS Teacher Certification required.
​2.  Applicants with strong college background in the academic areas of Reading Math, Science and/or Foreign Language will also be considered for specialized assignments.

DUTIES:
1.  Implement services to meet goals/objectives of student IEP.
2.  Assess communication skills as needed so that each student can successfully participate in all aspects of their summer school program.
3.  Participate in staffing conferences and classroom related activities of the summer program.
4.  Generate summary reports and other required paperwork within the scope of the summer program as requested by supervising Speech Language Pathologist, BOCES program principal and/or Clinical Therapy Coordinator.
5.  Work collaboratively with Teacher/Classroom Team/Program Administrators.
6.  Plan, support and implement school wide activities around theme. 
7.  May require travel between program locations. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  NYS Certification and/or License (both preferred) as required by the State Education Department for practice/work in the school setting; License preferred.
2.  ASHA Certification (preferred).
3.  Must be available for all 30 days of the summer program.
4.  Must have Medicaid Relevant training and NPI number.

DUTIES:
​1.  Act as language model, and provide some receptive and expressive interpreting in the classroom and special events during the school day.
​2.  Work one on one to assist special education/related services student to develop the necessary skills to successfully participate in the mainstream.
​3.  Coordinate with teacher and other education team members toward program goals.
​4.  Facilitate spoken and signed communication between student and staff.
​5.  Participate in in-servicing faculty and students as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  High School graduate; Associate's degree preferred.

1.  Civil Service eligibility for Interpreter for the Deaf: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
     A.  Completion of a training program for Interpreters recognized and accredited by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf; OR,
     B.  Transliterating Certification, Interpreting Certification, or Comprehensive Skills Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf; OR,
​     C.  Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an  Associate’s degree in Interpreting for the Hearing Impaired; OR,
​     D.  Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
2.  One or more levels of RID Certification, a minimum of 3.5 EIPA score, or demonstration of comparable skills.

2.  Review referral information – educational, psychosocial, medical, emotional/behavioral - provided on each referred student.
3.  Conduct Intake interviews with students, families, other indicated participants, attending Intake appointments.
4.  Assist families in the completion of indicated Monroe One BOCES forms.
5.  Complete required documentation, including Intake Reports,

1.   Painting interior and exterior walls, doors and ceilings.
2.   Prepare drywall, masonry block and metal frames to be painted.
3.   Carpentry skills, installing studded walls and drywall.   
4.   Operate boom and scissor lifts.
5.   Assist Maintenance Mechanic 1 and 2 level employees with technical maintenance installations, repairs, renovations and construction of plumbing and HVAC systems.

      B. Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in the electrical , mechanical or construction trades as a substitute for the six (6) months of work experience described in (A).
2.   Minimum of three years painting and carpentry experience in an educational or commercial environment.

DUTIES:
1. Assist students/educational teams in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities.
2. Provide assistive technology evaluations and services within program assignment and in accordance with IEPs.
3. Making recommendations regarding the acquisition of assistive technology devices; designing, fitting, customizing/adapting, and maintaining assistive technology devices.
4. Providing training or technical assistance to the student, the student’s family and educational staff.
5. Participate in staffing conferences when appropriate.
6. Work collaboratively with Parents/Teachers/Educational Teams/Program Administrators and appropriate Community Agencies to coordinate services.
7. Generate thorough summary reports and other required paperwork within the scope of the summer program in a timely manner as required by Department policies and Program requirements. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, or Special Education OR NYS Licensed OT/PT.
2. If Certified as a TSHH or TSSLD, NYS License and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency as a Speech-Language Pathologist preferred.

2. Assist Deaf/Hard of Hearing students to develop the necessary skills to successfully participate in all aspects of the Summer Work program.
3. Work collaboratively with the teacher/classroom team/Program Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A documented score of 3.4 or higher on the Cued American English Competency Screening (CAECS) or demonstration of comparable skills.
2. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Interpreting, Deaf Education or related area - or graduation from an interpreter training program, strongly preferred.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  July 8, 2019 – August 16, 2019: Six-week position Dates TBD by location, 7 hours a day, hours TBD by location, pre and post summer trainings TBD.

DUTIES:
1. Implement audiology services which may include HAT management, HAT trials, audio-consult, CAPE and audio evaluation to meet goals/objectives of each student’s IEP.
2. Assess communication skills as needed so that each student can successfully participate in all aspects of their summer school program.
3. Participate in staffing conferences and classroom related activities of the summer program.
4. Generate summary reports and other required paperwork within the scope of the summer program as requested by BOCES program principals and/or Clinical Therapy Coordinator.
5. Work collaboratively with Teacher/Educational Team/Program Administrators.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Civil Service eligibility for Audiologist: Possession of license and registration by the NYS Education Department as an Audiologist. ASHA certification (preferred).
2. Must be available for all 30 days of the summer program.
3. Must have Medicaid Relevant training and NPI number.
4. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).

Student Assistant, Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience (SAME) ProgramSW/EMCC/TA-SAME 030119

LOCATION:  Monroe One BOCES, Eastern Monroe Career Center 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: July 8, 2019 - July 26, 2019.  Hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 12:15 pm.

DUTIES: 
​1.  Assist lead teacher with supervision of 8th and 9th grade students in machine shops skills. 
​2.  Assist lead teacher in grading students’ skills and projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
​1.  Knowledge of and experience with manual machining, print reading, precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers and similar tools. 
​2.  Physically able to perform essential functions of position (with or without reasonable accommodation), including but not limited to:  Able to lift 50 pounds, ride a school bus for Friday field trips, and walk three miles throughout the day. 
​3.  Commit to Monday - Friday, July 8-26, 2019. 

PREFERRED Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with CNC machining, Mastercam and Inventor 2017.

Teacher - Cosmetology (Temporary) - for Summer Work ProgramSW/EMCC/COS 030119

LOCATION OF POSITION:  Monroe One BOCES; Eastern Monroe Career Center 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time, Temporary, June 27, 2019 – July 12, 2019.

DUTIES:
1.   Instruct students in theory and application of Cosmetology.
2.   Provide students with extensive guided practice.
3.   Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
4.   Maintain written records of attendance and progress.
5.   Order materials and equipment necessary for the operation of the program.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.   NYS Cosmetology license and NYS Certification in Cosmetology required.
2.   Minimum of five years of industry experience.
3.   Ability to work effectively with high school students.
4.   Previous teaching experience preferred.
5.   College degree preferred. 
6.   Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
